SUMMARY:River Oak Center for Children’s 2024 Toy Drive
DESCRIPTION:Make Your Donations Via the Amazon Wishlist\n\n\n\nLearn More About Donating Directly\n\n\n\n\nA Message from River Oak Center for Children \n\n\n\nRiver Oak is one of the area’s largest providers of behavioral and mental health services for financially disadvantaged children and youth. We serve over 1000 children and youth on any given day with a wide array of innovative and evidence based practices to meet the individual needs of the youth and family with the highest quality of care. With the holidays approaching\, which we recognize can be a stressful time\, we strive to provide a gift to each child and their siblings in order to help brighten the season for families who are already facing challenges. Caregivers are often unable to provide gifts for their children as they struggle to meet basic everyday needs. Helping provide a gift for each of our clients and their siblings takes a major stress off them. In December we will hold our annual Santa’s Workshop[Now known as Winter Wonderland.] event and serve children and youth from birth through age 21. Last year at this event over 1\,000 children and youth received Christmas gifts due to the generosity of our community. A list of ideas for the most requested items follows. \n\n\n\nPlease note that due to accounting guidelines\, we prefer to not receive gift cards. Additionally\, we are unable to give out any toys that look like or could be used as weapons along with items that are primarily solid blue or red in color. Thank you for understanding. \n\n\n\nToy Ideas & Requested Items\n\n\n\nInfant:Developmental ToysLearning ToysBuilding SetsStacking ToysCrib ToysStuffed ToysPull ToysMusical ToysInstrumentsBooks \n\n\n\nChildren:Baby Dolls (Multicultural)Action Figures (Dc Heroes\,Star Wars\, Etc.)Remote ToysBoard GamesPlay Doh SetsLegoSportsScience SetsArts (Slime\, Craft\, Etc.)Mine CraftPaw PatrolStem GamesPokémonBooks \n\n\n\nPre Teen & Teen:Curling Irons/WandsFlat IronsBlow DryersJournals With PensPortable ChargersWireless Earphones/HeadsetsBath & Beauty Products (I.E.Fragrances\, Nail Polish Sets\,Makeup Etc.) *No Razor Sets Please*Sport/Team Jerseys (Size L&Xl)Accessory Sets (I.E. Under the act it would be illegal for any resident to pay a doctor privately for any medical treatment covered by CalCare.   \nThe outcome:  Medicare\, Medi-Cal\, Tricare\, Employer Group Coverage\, Individual and Family Plans… ALL CURRENT avenues would become illegal. \nWe already have a provider shortage\, and this would almost certainly chase more providers away\, at the same time as surging demand (for free healthcare). \nHow does SAHU make a difference?  \nAs a leader in our local chapter of CAHIP\, SAHU has front row access to our political action endeavors. We work closely with a team of experts who are diligent in engaging and educating our state legislators in support of our priorities. \nThis is an evening dedicated to education\, advocacy\, and lobbying to align the future of healthcare with our vision of affordable\, reliable\, quality healthcare for all!\nLearn About Our PACs \n \nSponsorship Opportunities Available!\nPlatinum\n\nGold\n\nSilver\n\nBronze
