SAHU Wins Multiple Awards at NABIP Annual Convention!

We are thrilled to announce that the Sacramento Association of Health Underwriters (SAHU) has made a remarkable impression at the NABIP Annual Convention.

First, our hard work, dedication, and innovation paid off with the prestigious Pacesetter Award. We are also honored Rosamaria Marrujo, 2022/2023 President, took home the esteemed Presidential Citation Award. Legislative Update

SB 770 PASSED the Assembly Health Committee

Thank you to those of you who have participated in NABIP’s Operation Shout to oppose SB 770, a bill to finance a state-run health care system in California.

Despite hundreds of communications from CAHIP members, SB 770, a bill advancing Single Payer in California passed the Assembly Health Committee yesterday and is heading to the Assembly Appropriations Committee.

If signed into law, this legislation would create a workgroup to petition the federal government to redirect hundreds of billions of dollars in Medicare and Medi-Cal funding to a costly new, untested state-run health care system, thereby eliminating the Medicare and Medi-Cal programs that serve millions of Californians.

Please (re)join CAHIP in expressing your opposition to your Assembly member today! CAHIP will provide updates on outcomes in the Assembly Appropriations Committee as that information becomes available- no later than September 1, 2023.
