Contributing to the greater Sacramento area community.
Our Community Service Chair is responsible for researching and implementing a Community Service event every year. In the past, CAHIP NorCal has coordinated and held a couple of events which benefited the Alzheimerâs Association and the OKIZU Camp for Childhood Cancer.
Food & Toy Drive
CAHIP NorCal annually donates $500 to the River Oak Center for Children. This organization, established 1966, provides a comprehensive array of behavioral health services to children and youth throughout Sacramento County. CAHIP NorCal embraces their mission and advocates for our youth in the community to thrive and succeed. The donation is given in November to help with their annual Santaâs Workshop. In addition to the monetary donation, we also hold a Food and Toy Drive. Our CAHIP NorCal members bring non-perishable food items and one unwrapped toy to our November Luncheon, which is gathered and delivered to the organization’s contact that day. We invite them to join us and speak about their organization.
The Children's Receiving Home
In addition to the $500 annual donation and Food and Toy Drive, we also participate in their yearly Santaâs Workshop. This event provides much needed items to youth in the community. Our CAHIP NorCal members have donated hours/time to participate in helping with wrapping gifts and distributing to families in need. To see the appreciation and gratitude from these families is very rewarding. Without this event, most would go without Christmas gifts.
