More About Anthony Halby From A Friend Iâve known Anthony ever since I moved to Sacramento in 1988, where he was instrumental in starting the Sacramento Association of Health Underwriters (SAHU) chapter in 1989. He was the first president of SAHU and served on the SAHU board for many years. Anthony was not only a strong supporter of the role of the agent/broker in the delivery of health care benefits, but a big promoter of membership in the association. He was an early member of the Los Angeles Association of Health Underwriters (LAAHU) and later helped start up the California chapter (Yes, LAAHU was in existence before CAHU). He served as CAHUâs founding president and was active on the State board for many years. In the late 1990âs and early 2000âs, Anthony served at the National level as both Membership Chair and on the LPRT board. He did some interesting things as Membership chair and was my roommate at many NAHU meetings over the years including Capitol Conferences, Conventions and Regional meetings. He was a tireless advocate for the association and while he did not always agree with some of the political positions that we took within both CAHU and NAHU, you could always count on Anthony to attend lobbying events and share his opinion about contemporary issues.
From a personal viewpoint I am happy to say that he and Charlene raised some great kids â about the same ages as my own â and it was always good to see him and Charlene at wrestling tournaments and football games over the years in support of their kids. In the early years, Anthony loved to party and was always in the mix of social events at conventions including one in Seattle about 30 years ago (the infamous rolling piano on the hotel elevator incident).
I will greatly miss Anthony Halby and proud to call him my friendâĶ
