Essential Steps for Those Impacted by the Wildfires
Accessing Insurance and Relief Resources
If you have been affected, start by reaching out to your insurance provider to request a full copy of your policy, including your declarations page, which outlines coverage for rebuilding, personal property replacement, and additional living expenses (ALE). The California Department of Insurance requires insurers to provide this upon request at no cost within 30 days.
For those who are uninsured or need additional assistance, federal aid may be available if the wildfire is declared a federal disaster. The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offers disaster relief resources atDisasterAssistance.govor by calling 1-800-621-3362.
